Looking To Tie The Knot in Evergreen?

If you or someone you love is scouting for a location to hold a wedding, be sure to add Evergreen to your list. Whether you’re looking to say your vows in a field of flowers, under a canopy of trees, within earshot of a babbling brook, or even in the glistening snow for that perfect Winter Wonderland wedding, an Evergreen wedding will kick-off of your marriage in a magical setting!

“Evergreen’s mountain beauty, combined with its convenience to Denver, is what makes it an ideal wedding location,” says Highland Haven Creekside Inn Marketing Manager Allison Walker. “Guests can soak in the mountain beauty without having to brave the traffic to the high country.”

Lindsay Conroy, who serves as both the owner and event coordinator at The Pines at Genesee, agrees. “It has the mountain feel while still being close to Denver,” she points out for those flying into Denver International Airport. “There is a picturesque beauty to Evergreen with the mountains surrounding it. We’ve also got incredible wildlife!”

We’ve put together some of our local resources to help you plan the perfect event from the venue and catering to lodging and the miscellaneous details. These are experts in their field who know how to cater to the individual wants and needs of every bride and groom and their wedding party. Put your trust in them!

The Perfect Spot

Don’t let the mountain setting fool you! An outdoor wedding in Evergreen is very popular thanks to the stunning backdrop at every turn and 300 days of sunshine. Much like you’d sample various foods to determine your reception menu, you can visit the many outdoor natural settings to choose your backdrop components: fields of sunflowers, rock outcroppings, creeks, gardens, wooden trellises, brick pavers, lakeside, surrounded by Evergreens and so much more!

If you’d prefer an indoor setting, Evergreen has several churches, synagogues and private businesses with elegant, indoor options.

“We love hosting small weddings, elopements, and even just guests of weddings in the area,” says Walker. “Our property offers romantic add-ons for guests to commemorate their love on the property with our Love Locks and Lovers Lane Stones as well as our signature Romance Trays complete with flowers from local florists. Our on-site weddings can vary from intimate elopements to small celebrations and our on-site coordinators are there to help with each detail along the way. Our ‘Just Bring the Rings’ Elopement Package includes a bottle of champagne, a small wedding cake, bridal bouquet and boutonniere, and breakfast in bed the next morning.”

The Evergreen Red Barn, formerly known as Meadows at Marshdale, can accommodate 125 guests for your rustic but elegant dream wedding. You can schedule a tour or take a video tour on the establishment’s website.

The family-owned and operated Blackstone Rivers Ranch encompasses 22 acres on Chicago Creek Road (Highway 103) leading to Mt. Evans. The magical venue features design decisions that pay homage to Idaho Springs' rich and exciting history. From its stunning interior finishes, furniture and architecture to its landscape, various outdoor spaces and building names, the ranch is the perfect location for your dream wedding. Culinary Delights and Spirits

“We are very grateful for the active duty military men and women who serve this country,” says Frank Frosh of Christies of Genesee. “We offer a complimentary champagne toast to all active members of the military.”

Conroy points out that The Pines at Genesee also has an in-house caterer, The Pines Catering, which has catered thousands of wedding rehearsal dinners, holiday celebrations and more since 1982. Whether you’re looking for an informal reception or a four-course sit-down dinner, The Pines Catering can fulfill your culinary wishes.

“Our venue is unique in that we provide a day of a wedding coordinator at no additional cost, we include almost everything you need and can provide almost everything else you may want,” says Conroy of The Pines at Genesee. ”Included in our basic facility and catering cost is not just the space and a meal, but tables, chairs, floor-length linen, silverware, china, glassware, non-alcoholic beverages, ice, bar fruit and all of the labor. We also allow you to bring in your own alcohol—which saves tons of money!”

For venues that don’t offer catering, Evergreen has a number of restaurants and caterers that offer it, as well as bakeries and liquor stores to supply wedding cakes and alcohol for the reception.

Where to Lay Your Head

Guests who are attending a wedding in Evergreen have plenty of choices for lodging. Although some may opt to stay at the wedding or reception venue, not all locations offer lodging.

The Bears Inn Bed and Breakfast features 11 charming guest rooms and a two-bedroom detached cabin. Wedding guests can rent one room or the entire inn can be rented out for your wedding party and guests.

Award-winning Highland Haven Creekside Inn offers such fun options as the TreeHouse, luxury suites, junior suites, Creekside cottages, the Fireside Lofts and more.

The Meadow Creek Lodge and Event Center is an exclusive 34-acre mountain retreat with such fun lodging options as the Colorado Sun Suite, the Room in the Meadow deluxe cabin, and multiple guestrooms with their own private bathrooms.

At the Alpen Way Chalet Mountain Lodge, each suite has a private entrance, private bath and private deck or patio. Most come with a full kitchen or kitchenette.

The Incidentals

To shop for incidentals like music, transportation, flowers and travel, start at the Chamber’s website, www.evergreenchamber.org, and click on “Visit Here” then scroll down to “Weddings.” There you’ll find several transportation companies to provide limo service, a local florist and even a company that provides professional bartending and food service staff.

Those needing help arranging flights for their family and friends can contact one of the local travel agencies. Ask about a bridal registry, which gives guests the option of donating to the couple’s chosen honeymoon.

To make your special day as perfect as your love for your spouse, have your wedding in Evergreen. It won’t disappoint!
